Hello
After years of education and experience, rewarding wins and a couple spectacular failures, I can say with confidence that I am a communications professional. Great communication is hard, and I love every minute of the research and revision that ultimately becomes a story that connects with people.
Throughout my career and with the genius of some brilliant art directors, my words have convinced thousands of people to happily part with their money for something they need or a cause that matters. To avoid taking negative action when the news is bad. Or to think a little bit differently about something they thought they understood.
I believe that the principles of classical rhetoric still apply, as does the best advice I've ever read: simply, "good writing is about telling the truth." (That's Anne Lamott in Bird by Bird.)
I'm a terrible bowler. I'm elated when I break 100.
